A strange sight on Hospital Road near the racecourse caused panic among locals on Saturday morning. A white car, parked on the sidewalk since early morning, drew attention due to its unusual condition — completely covered with a cloth, windows shut, and no sign of anyone around.
According to locals, the car had been parked there since the previous night. The matter came to light when patrolling officers from Hastings Police Station noticed the vehicle during their morning round. On receiving no response despite repeated calls, officers grew suspicious and knocked on the car window.
Moments later, they noticed movement inside the vehicle. Soon after, a young man opened the door, and it was discovered that a young woman was also inside. The police questioned both individuals to verify their identities and reasons for being there. The incident drew a crowd, leading to a brief commotion in the area before the situation was brought under control.
